The Federal building, NYC:
Jefferson was seated in his office when Sam walked in with a concerned expression on his face.
“What’s the matter?” asked Jefferson.
“Jefferson, I just wanted to see how you were doing,” said Sam.
“I’m perfectly all right, I’ve got a case to work on and so do you.”
“What case?”
“We need to catch Oliver.”
“Jefferson…” began Sam.
“No, Sam, I won’t let anyone get away with something like that, he thinks he has won the game, but he mistakes the triumph of a round for winning the game.”
“Do we have any leads?”
“Yep, I’ve got Gary’s photo,” said Jefferson.
“Gary?”
“Oliver’s alias, and that means, we have Oliver’s photo.”
Sam had a glint in his eyes. “So, what’s the beginning point of our investigation?”
Jefferson “Let’s look into the files, find one, and then let’s get him. I know I won’t rest until I do, what about you?”
Sam looked determined when he said, “I’ll get the files.”
As Sam exited the office, Jefferson looked at the note that Oliver had sent him, the first one, about the robbery of the diamonds.
There was motivation in Jefferson’s voice as he said, “Wherever you are, I’m coming to get you.”
The Island:
Michael was standing outside the living room with a worried expression on his face. Although what he was seeing made him happy, what he was thinking about made him concerned. He saw that Jasmine, Frank and Mary were showing Michael and Mary’s childhood photos to Brandon and Olivia. There was a question which had been troubling Michael for a long time, and the answer to the question had chances of being a threat to the happiness which Michael had found with his family.
Walter came over and stood beside Michael. “It’s quite peaceful, isn’t it? knowing that everything is all right now.”
“I hope so.”
Walter looked at Michael and said, “What do you mean?”
“Did you send me any messages?”
“What sort of messages?”
In reply, Michael took out an envelope from his pocket and handed it to Walter. Walter opened it and took out its contents. It contained the chits of paper on which the messages Michael had received were printed.
Walter’s eyes widened. “What does this mean? Who sent you these?”
Michael stared at his family and varied thoughts ran in his mind as he said, “Those are the questions we need to find answers to.”
Michael’s Former Apartment:
It was late night, and a man was walking around in Michael’s former apartment. He was checking each and every corner, but without even making a single sound. Even if a person was standing with his ear pressed to the door, they would not have known that there was someone inside the apartment, and this was to be expected from the man, he was a professional. The man had a mini camera fitted into his glasses and the video was being broadcasted live to another location.
After a moment, the man raised his hand and touching the communication device on one of his ears, he said, “Sir, there is nothing here.”
Far away, a man was sitting in a dark room, and his eyes were focused on a computer kept on the desk in front of him. As soon as the voice of the man in Michael’s apartment blared through a Bluetooth speaker on the table, the man banged his fist on the desk.
“What do you mean there is nothing? Where did he go?”
“Sir, there is no clue here, it appears he has just vanished.”
“Where would he go on such a short notice?”
“I don’t know sir.”
“I wasn’t talking to you.”
“My apologies sir.”
“Find him, no matter what the cost, I want to know where Michael Adams is!” Saying this, the man terminated the connection.
The man picked up a photo from the desk, a photo of Michael and looking at it, he said, “Where are you, Michael? We have some unfinished business.”
